Andy Strickland of True Hockey: Ville Leino was in the middle of contract extension talks with the Flyers when GM Paul Holmgren approached Leino with the option to either get a deal done now or wait until after the season so that they could trade for Kris Versteeg. They don’t have enough ‘tag room’ to do a deal now.
