The Maple Leafs and Nashville pull off a 4 player trade

The Toronto Maple Leafs trade defenseman Brett Lebda and forward Robert Slaney to the Nashville Predators for center Matthew Lombardi and defenseman Cody Franson. James Mirtle via twitter: “If Lombardi plays 60 games, Preds get a fourth-rounder in 2013. If he doesn’t, Leafs get one.”

Lombardi carries a $3.5 million cap for the next 2 seasons. Franson carries a $800,000 cap hit and will be an RFA after next season.

Lebda carries a $1.45 million cap hit this season. Slaney is on the last year of his entry level deal, and would carry a $575,000 cap hit.
