Savard still being shopped … Spezza not going anywhere … Lightning interested in Kaberle
  • Stephen Harris of the Boston Herald: The Bruins are fine with having centers Savard, Krejci, Bergeron and Seguin in their line up next year, but they will continue to shop Marc Savard and his 7 year, $28 million contract. Savard doesn’t have a full no trade clause, but he has a modified one where he provided a list of 5 teams he would go to. There was a rumor that the Bruins and Wild were talking about a deal, Brent Burns was the main piece coming from Minnesota.
  • Mike Russo via Twitter: Sources telling Russo that the Wild are not interested in Savard, and that he wouldn’t waive his no-trade clause to go to Minny.
  • Joe Haggerty via Twitter: Sources say Savard would okay a trade to Chicago, Ottawa, and Toronto but the problem is those teams don’t appear to want him.
  • Eric Duhatschek via Twitter: The Flames could offer Robyn Regehr and maybe Daymond Langkow for Jason Spezza. Langkow has one year left on his contract.
  • Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune: Despite many rumors circulating that the Blackhawks are shopping Kris Versteeg, GM Stan Bowman said that they don’t have to trade him.
  • The Globe and Mail: The Maple Leafs had an uneventful 1st round round. They tried to trade up, and listened to 4 offers, but in the end they ending up getting nothing done. “Obviously we got offers on Tomas that didn’t meet our standard,” Burke said. “We tried to get into the card game here in the first round, we tried a couple things to get a first-rounder that did not involve Tomas but weren’t successful. That’s the way it goes sometimes.”
  • Erik Erlendsson via Twitter: The Tampa Bay Lightning may be in on Tomas Kaberle, but would have to send some salary the other way to make this happen.
