Jen is running a 10K race in memory of Derek Boogaard for the Defending the Blue Line, a charity that Boogaard was involved with. She is looking to raise at least $500 (hopefully a lot more) and we are trying to help her out.

We’ve put up a banner in the right navigation that will direct you to her donation page or just click here.

From her site, NHLhistoryGirl.com on why she is running:

The people at DTBL do amazing work to support military families who want to participate in hockey. I support them because I come from a family with a long history of military service; like Boogaard, I once had hopes of joining the armed forces. Supporting DTBL is a way to meaningfully show appreciation not just to the military, but to their families who sacrifice much as well.

About Defending the Blue Line:

We accomplish this by providing free equipment for military kids, hockey camps, special events, and financial assistance for registration fees and other costs associated with hockey. Defending The Blue Line is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization DTBL Tax ID# 27-0711063.
