Blues add two on PTOs

St. Louis Blues: The St. Louis Blues have signed forward Troy Brouwer and Jamie McGinn to professional tryouts. McGinn practiced with the team yesterday and Brouwer will practice today.

Brouwer played for the Blues back in 2015-16.

Coyotes GM gets an extension

Arizona Coyotes: The Arizona Coyotes have extended the contract of GM John Chayka. No terms were released.

“We are extremely pleased to sign John to a long-term contract extension,” said Meruelo. “John is one of the brightest and hardest-working general managers in the entire NHL and over the past four seasons, he has done an excellent job of rebuilding our franchise and transforming the Coyotes into a contender. I am fully confident that John is the right person to lead us moving forward and help us bring the Stanley Cup to Arizona.”

Pierre LeBrun: Chayka has a year and a half remaining on his current deal. New owner Alex Meruelo has obviously has liked what Chayka has done. “Having an owner with deep pockets has also helped change the way Chayka can manage his roster I am sure.”

Foligno suspended for three games

Adrian Dater: Foligno after the game on the hit: “I actually didn’t know I hit him in the head at all. That’s why I was reacting the way I did when I saw the replay. There was no intent to hit him like that at all. I’m trying to line him up at the time and then he kind of makes that play. It just happened so fast and I felt sick to my stomach when I saw that I hit him in the head. It’s an unfortunate collision, and my main concern is that he’s just alright. I got word from their locker room that he’s feeling alright, so yeah, it just sucks.”
