Sparks fills in for Hutchinson

Kristen Shilton of TSN: Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Garret Sparks temporarily returned to Leafs practice, filling in for Michael Hutchinson who is with his wife for the birth of their child.

“Really is not back here any sooner in my mind,” said Leafs’ coach Mike Babcock. “He’s filling in for a day or two here while Hutch and his wife welcome their child. But the 10-day program he was on, he’s still on. We won’t deviate from that.”

Boyle lays out Dickinson

Dickinson left the game for the remainder of the first period but was able to return for the season.
