Rangers sign an RFA, one to go

New York Rangers: The Rangers have signed forward Brendan Lemieux to a one-year contract.

Puck Pedia: Lemieux’s deal is worth $925,000. With a projected 23-man roster the Rangers have about $235,000 in cap space with Anthony DeAngelo as their lone remaining RFA.

Flames bring back a defenseman

Cap Friendly: The Calgary Flames have signed defenseman Michael Stone to a one-year deal worth $700,000.

The Flames bought out the final year of Stone’s contract back in August. Stone had been on a three-year, $10.5 million deal.

Wild re-sign Fiala

Sarah McLellan of the Star-Tribune: The Minnesota Wild have re-signed RFA Kevin Fiala to a two-year, $6 million deal.

Fiala will get $2.5 million this season and $3.5 million next year.

Bruins sign Cassidy to an extension

Boston Bruins: The Bruins have signed head coach Bruce Cassidy to a multi-year contract extension.

Pierre LeBrun: Not official but believe that Cassidy will get around $3 million a season.

Blues add Chiarelli

Renaud Lavoie: Heard that former Edmonton Oilers GM Peter Chiarelli will be a consultant for the St. Louis Blues this season.

No PTOs for the Oilers, Flames add another 

Daniel Nugent-Bowman: The Edmonton Oilers don’t have any PTOs on their training camp roster.

Wes Gilbertson: The Calgary Flames have added defenseman Eric Gryba on a PTO to their training camp roster.
