Corey Masisak of The Athletic: The Devils signed Davies to a two-way entry-level contract on Wednesday. Davies is a Hobey Baker Award finalist and played three years at Northeastern. It is a two-year deal which begins in 2019-20. The seventh-round draft pick truly is a showcase of modern player development. Tom Fitzgerald (New Jersey Assistant General Manager) referred to Davies’ ability at the next level.

“It should translate, because of his sense and his vision and skill. I think we saw it at the Beanpot. When the competition got tougher, he rose to the occasion and played better. I think playing with other smart hockey players, he’ll just shine for sure.”
