Red Wings signed Erne after trade

Cap Friendly: The Detroit Red Wings have signed recently acquired forward Adam Erne to a one-year, one-way deal with an AAV of $1.05 million. He’ll have a base salary of $950,000 with a $100,000 signing bonus.

Erne was acquired by the Red Wings yesterday from the Tampa Bay Lightning for a 2020 4th round pick.

Blackhawks add another defenseman

Mark Lazerus: The Chicago Blackhawks have signed 27-year old defenseman Philip Holm to a one-year contract.

He’ll get $700,000 in the NHL and $300,000 in the minors.

  • Aivis Kalnins: “Given the team he played for – have to say he did amazing. Has the capabilities to play a two-way game, has some physical tools and can make some breakout passes as well. Not sure if he’s NHL ready but certainly gives Blackhawks some more depth.”
San Diego (AHL) sign six

San Diego Gulls: The AHL Gulls signed one-year deals with forwards Alex Broadhurst, Brent Gates Jr., Luke Gazdic, defensemen Hunter Drew and Steven Ruggiero, and goaltender Roman Durny.

Lack not able to play this season

Eddie Lack: On his future:

“Dear fans and friends, my body won’t allow me to play professional hockey at this time. I still have a ways ahead of me in PT regarding my hips. Injuries are though and I’m going to keep working hard daily, but I’ve been playing though hip pain the last 6 years, and with PT now I need to make sure I give myself the preparations I need to play at an NHL level again.

In the meantime, because I’m not healthy enough to play or sign right now, I am happy to announce I will be the new goalie coach at Arizona State University. I love the game and I’m excited to share some of the knowledge I’ve gained in my professional career.

Thank you for your support and #forksup”
