NHL Rumors: Vegas Golden Knights, Nashville Predators and Colorado Avalanche
The Nashville Predators would be interested in Matt Duchene
On the Vegas Golden Knights …

Pierre LeBrun: The Golden Knights have shown some interest in free agent Brian Boyle. There will be more teams interested in Boyle.

Pierre LeBrun: Vegas GM George McPhee say they have more trades to come: “We have to move some contracts.” They have more defenseman to trade.

Pierre LeBrun: Asked McPhee about defenseman Nate Schmidt and he said they are keeping their young players, so sounds like they will keeping Schmidt.

Pierre LeBrun: Vegas getting calls on their young players. Three teams called and asked about Shea Theodore and were clearly told “No”.

Nick Cotsonika: McPhee is working on trading a defenseman. They have spoken with Marc Methot about his future.

Steve Carp: McPhee on trading: “We have 12 defensemen. We still have contracts we need to move.”

Steve Carp: McPhee on the draft: “We have three first-round picks and we plan to select three players.”

On the Nashville Predators and Colorado Avalanche …

Darren Dreger: The Predators are definitely interested in Avs forward Matt Duchene, but if the Avs are asking for a defenseman, there likely won’t be a fit.

Pierre LeBrun: The Predators also spoke with the Avs back in February about Duchene.

Chris Nichols of FanRag Sports: Darren Dreger on TSN on if the Colorado Avalanche would trade Matt Duchene. It could be hard for the New York Islanders to fit Matt Duchene’s salary cap hit in.

“But look at the Nashville Predators. Again… they lost James Neal in the expansion draft, so they know that they’ve got to add a top-six guy. Historically speaking, I also know that David Poile has had some interest in Matt Duchene.

“So whether there’s a fit with Colorado on the trade front, we’ll have wait and to see.”

Duchene has two years left at a $6 million cap hit.
