NHL Rumors: Sens, Avs, Canucks, Trade Suggestions, Blackhawks and Blues
Ryan Miller of the Vancouver Canucks
On the Ottawa Senators and Colorado Avalanche …

John Shannon: Sounding like the Senators and Avs will play in Stockholm Sweden next November 8th and 10th. NHLPA and NHL still need to come to a final agreement.

On the Vancouver Canucks …

Jeff Peterson: Canucks GM Jim Benning said that re-signing goaltender Ryan Miller was discussed at their organizational meetings this past week.

TSN Radio Vancouver: Benning on re-sign Miller: “We’ll see how the rest of the season plays out. He’s been excellent…and that’s an option we have”

Trade Suggestions …

Craig Custance of ESPN: Looking at eight trade suggestions that may make sense for both team. Below are NOT rumors, just suggestions.

Avs Matt Duchene to the Predators for Mattias Ekholm, Juuse Saros and a 2017 1st round pick.

Coyotes Martin Hanzal to the Blackhawks for Nick Schmaltz and a draft pick.

Lightning’s Valtteri Filppula to the Wild for Mike Reilly.

Red Wings Thomas Vanek to the Blue Jackets for a 2nd round pick.

Stars Patrick Sharp to the Sharks for 2nd round pick and a prospect.

Coyotes Radim Vrbata and Michael Stone to the Flames for Jon Gillies and draft pick(s).

Penguins Marc-Andre Fleury to the Flames for Brian Elliott.

On the Chicago Blackhawks …

Chris Hine of the Chicago Tribune: The Blackhawks could use another forward, but they don’t need to get the ‘biggest fish.’ They could make a smaller move(s) for someone that fits their style of play. Examples of that type of trade that worked out for the Blackhawks are Richard Panik and Andrew Desjardins.

On the St. Louis Blues …

Jonas Siegel in the Edmonton Journal: thinks that it may be better for the Blues to keep pending free agent defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk. The Blues have turned it around lately and are still a viable threat to compete for the Cup. Shattenkirk averages about 20 minutes a night and is a threat offensively for them.
