Bruins expected to add Shen

@RUSProspects: Pavel Shen is expected to sign with the Boston Bruins after he finishes working out a termination agreement with his KHL team.

Ak Bars may not have spoken with Rantanen yet

Igor Eronko: Have heard that Ak Bars of the KHL is willing to offer Mikko Rantanen a one-year contract at $4 million. The tax rate is only 13 percent and there is no escrow.

Aivis Kalnins: July 20th – “Although there is a rumor that Mikko Rantanen could be headed to AkBars of the KHL due to him and Avalanche being “far away” in their negotiations GM of the KHL club says that they haven’t even spoken about a potential move to the KHL.”

Three potential options for the Devils

Chris Ryan of NJ.com: The New Jersey Devils have been able to add P.K. Subban, Wayne Simmonds and Jack Hughes this offseason. Devils GM Ray Shero has said they will continue to look for ways to improve. Three options could be …

Trade for Vegas Golden Knights restricted free agent forward Nikita Gusev. The Golden Knights have salary cap issues and are believed to be around $2 million apart in contract talks with Gusev. The 27-year old put up 82 points in 62 KHL games last season.

Sign unrestricted free agent defenseman Jake Gardiner. The Devils seem set on the right side but on the left they have Andy Greene, Will Butcher and Mirco Mueller. Gardiner might fit nicely beside Subban. Term and money may be lower now as he remains unsigned three weeks into free agency.

The Tampa Bay Lightning are still in a bit of cap crunch and could be looking to move out some more salary. The Devils could look at trading for forwards Tyler Johnson, Ondrej Palat or Alex Killorn.
