NHL Rumors: Ryan Dzingel, Mark Stone, and the Top 50 Trade Candidates
The Chicago Blackhawks are one team interested in Ryan Dzingel.
Dzingel turns down a five-year offer … Suitors for Stone

Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun: Ottawa Senators GM Pierre Dorion is asking fans to be patient.

Forward Ryan Dzingel has turned down a five-year contract extension worth more than $20 million.

The Senators have been listening to trade offers on Mark Stone for the past 10 days and more so after Stone rejected their eight-year offer on Thursday. The doors are not completely shut on him though, but highly unlikely.

There are probably seven or eight teams that would be serious contenders.

The Winnipeg Jets, Calgary Flames, Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning are among the teams that have called the Senators.

The asking price is higher than Matt Duchene‘s first-round pick, conditional pick for re-signing, and two prospects – a high-end prospect likely needed.

The Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks are looking at Dzingel.

League executives are saying the Senators want a high-end prospect or first-round pick for Dzingel. If the Senators can’t get the first, they could look for two assets.

Bob McKenzie: “It is, at best, a long shot — in order for it to happen Eugene Melnyk would have to step up the club offer and Mark Stone would have to be fully prepared to do what he hasn’t done so far (commit) — but it’s worth noting the door to re-signing him in OTT has not been locked shut.”

Bob McKenzie: Dorion’s primary focus is trading Stone. Serious suitors include the Jets, Predators, Flames, and Bruins. Teams complaining prices too high.

Bob McKenzie: Some who may feel they’ve been priced out of Stone could act quickly on the secondary market of Mats Zuccarello or Marcus Johansson.
