NHL Rumors: Restricted Free Agents – Ritchie, Morrissey, Theodore, and Wood
Josh Morrissey and Nick Ritchie
Ducks and Ritchie not close on a deal

Eric Stephens: Anaheim Ducks GM Bob Murray said there have been lots of contract talks with restricted free agent forward Nick Ritchie, but added that they are not close on a deal.

No update on Morrissey

Jason Bell: Winnipeg Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff updating restricted free agent defensemen Josh Morrissey‘s contract situation: “Not really much to update. Again, in constant communication with his representatives and just remain hopeful the situation gets resolved soon.”

Theodore and Golden Knights far apart

Pierre LeBrun: Restricted free agent Shea Theodore isn’t at the start of the Vegas Golden Knights camp. Have been told that the sides are far apart on a deal, though things can always change quickly.

David Schoen: Golden Knights coach Gerard Gallant on unsigned Theodore: “I haven’t talked to him, no. For me, when he gets here, I’ll talk about it. That’s the main thing. I’m sure he’s skating on his own.”

Shero talks about unsigned RFA Wood

Corey Masisak of The Athletic: New Jersey Devils GM Ray Shero when asked if contract negotiations with restricted free agent Miles Wood have been difficult.

“No, not really. He’s a huge part of our team, what we’re trying to do. This is part of the business. It’s the first time through for him, not so much for me. At some point hopefully we’ll have him sign. There are a number of Group IIs that are still unsigned.”

Shero when asked if there is a big gap with regards to what each side is looking for.

“I’m not really sure to be honest. It’s been an ongoing conversation. We haven’t talked in a week or so but I’m not sure what’s left to be said at this point. We’ll see where it takes us. I don’t think it’s a big gap, but I think there’s some philosophical issues that need to be worked out about how the system works.”
