NHL Rumors: Rangers, Predators, Stars, Sabres, Red Wings, Lightning, Blue Jackets, and Golden Knights
Mike Green is one defenseman the Tampa Bay Lightning could be looking at.
On the New York Rangers, Nashville Predators, Dallas Stars, Buffalo Sabres, Detroit Red Wings, Tampa Bay Lightning, Columbus Blue Jackets, and the Vegas Golden Knights …

TSN Insider Trading: Darren Dreger: Rick Nash‘s agent has already spoken with eight to ten teams that have some interest.

“Now, as far as Nash and his interests, I believe that it is the Nashville Predators at number one, and perhaps the Dallas Stars at number two. For both of those clubs, it’s a tricky one because they don’t really want to shift the dynamics, certainly that’s the case with the Predators, and you’ve got the history of Ken Hitchcock and Nash that dates back to the Columbus Blue Jackets, but is he a great fit in Dallas? As long as Martin Hanzal can stay healthy and they get Marc Methot back it might be a tough fit, but those two teams are high on Nash’s list.”

Pierre LeBrun: There are a lot of teams that are interested in both Rick Nash and Evander Kane. Sabres GM Jason Botterill may not think it’s a bad thing that six teams could be bidding on Nash. Nash could be moved first and set the market price – may be getting three pieces.

Darren Dreger: Going to be a fire sale for the Rangers. 25 scouts were at their game on Wednesday. Winger J.T. Miller is getting some interest. Some teams are intrigued by Chris Kreider.

Bob McKenzie: Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault has two years left on his deal at $4 million a year. Vigneault is more geared to veteran players as opposed to younger players, so there are some questions about his long-term future with the team.

Bob McKenzie: Red Wings defenseman Mike Green has a no-trade clause, so he controls his future. The list of teams that he may be willing to go to is short.

“The price that the Red Wings are asking for is somewhere between what St. Louis got for Kevin Shattenkirk last year, a first-round pick and a prospect. Or between what Brendan Smith fetched last year as a rental for the Detroit Red Wings, that was a second-round pick and a third-round pick. Tampa Bay is the team that is often linked to Green.”

Pierre LeBrun: If the Blue Jackets wanted to trade defenseman Jack Johnson, they could get a low first-round pick, but they may prefer to get a forward back in a deal. They could trade Johnson for a first, and they use that first to acquire a forward.

Darren Dreger: The Golden Knights have been scouting the Ottawa Senators and could be looking to add to make a Cup push.
