NHL Rumors: Panarin, Maroon, Kings, Plekanec, Canadiens and the Blues
The St. Louis Blues and Edmonton Oilers are among the teams interested in Patrick Maroon.
On Artemi Panarin …

Amir Basu: Pierre McGuire on Panarin: “I think he’s looking for more bright lights, big city, his girlfriend is very successful in the modelling business, I think they would like to move on to a bigger city with more opportunities.”

On Patrick Maroon

Andy Strickland: Six teams have shown interest in forward Patrick Maroon. The St. Louis Blues are one of the teams. The New Jersey Devils and Edmonton Oilers are also possibilities. For the Oilers to bring back Maroon, they would likely have to move out Milan Lucic.

Jim Thomas: Confirming that the Blues are talking with Maroon, who is from St. Louis.

On the Los Angeles Kings …

Dennis Bernstein: Have been hearing that the LA Kings are one of the teams are interested in free agent defenseman Calvin de Haan.

John Hoven: The Kings won’t be interested in giving up three top assets for a one-year rental in Artemi Panarin. If Panarin were willing to talk about a long-term extension before, he’d likely be looking for more than the Kings could fit into their future plans. He’s currently at $6 million, how much would be looking for on his next deal?

On Tomas Plekanec

L.A. Lariviere: Tomas Plekanec is getting some interest from Europe, though his preference is to stay in the NHL. His European agent said they are waiting for the first few days of July to see how things unfold.

Bob McKenzie: Shouldn’t be a surprise if Tomas Plekanec is signed by the Canadiens on July 1st.

On the Montreal Canadiens and St. Louis Blues …

Chris Nichols: Pierre LeBrun of TSN 1040 said the Canadiens “are still in on Ryan O’Reilly. So are the St. Louis Blues, among other teams. St. Louis and Montreal in particular have continued this week to keep in touch with Buffalo on Ryan O’Reilly.”

On the St. Louis Blues …

Jim Thomas: Free agent Kyle Brodziak has received calls from several teams, but he’s still talking with the Blues.
