NHL Rumors: Ottawa Senators and the Pittsburgh Penguins
Is Tyler Bozak on the Pittsburgh Penguins potential third line center list?
On the Ottawa Senators …

TSN: Senators GM Pierre Dorion after re-signing Jean-Gabriel Pageau and if he’s done making moves this offseason.

“Even before I was talking to other GMs about a possible deal. I know the twitter world will go crazy now, but we’re always talking, always looking to improve our team.

Whatever the situation is, where ever we can do, as long as it doesn’t cost us out future. If we feel we can put a better product on the ice for next year, we’ll always look at it.

I wouldn’t say the shopping is completely done but we might be in the checkout line right now.”

On the Pittsburgh Penguins …

Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: (from last week) Penguins GM has a list of potential third line centers for the team for next season.

“It’s a patient process,” Rutherford said on Tuesday afternoon. “You don’t just jump at the first person.

“There’s some options out there right now, but we’ve put together a list of guys that we feel fit what we’re trying to do. I’m trying to be patient until one of those guys actually becomes available.”

The Penguins might need to move salary to potentially fit someone in.

Given the Toronto Maple Leafs salary cap situation, they might be looking to move center Tyler Bozak and his $4.2 million salary. Bozak is really good friends with Phil Kessel.

“I do feel confident that, by the start of the season, we’re going to have a third-line center that we’re comfortable with,” Rutherford said. “Whether it’s one of those guys on the list or one of the guys that I could go and get right today.”

Rutherford will continue to watch the market and said there is still some talk. Some teams are close to the cap ceiling, while others have too many players.
