On the Colorado Avalanche and Matt Duchene …

Chris Nichols of FanRag Sports: Elliotte Friedman was on Sportsnet 960 talking about the Colorado Avalanche. Inevitably, Matt Duchene’s name came up in the conversation.

“I think he’s going. I just think it’s a matter of when,” indicated Friedman. “I don’t think they’re going to be staying together for very long.

“The one thing I really believed is the best thing Matt Duchene could do is show up and play great, and he took a big step towards that last night. The more he does that, the easier it’s going to be for Colorado to find a trade partner. I think he’s going. It think it’s just a question of when. And like I said – if he produces, he’s getting traded and that’ll make it easier for them to trade.”

Friedman was later on 630 CHED and was talking about which teams could be interested in Duchene.

“I don’t know if there’s anything pressing right now,” began Friedman. “I think there’s a group of teams that are kind of around him. I think Nashville is. I think Columbus definitely is. I think Pittsburgh is. I think Calgary is. I still wonder if the Islanders are kind of around there. Ottawa has said that they’ve been interested. I still think all of those teams are circling.”
