Kings turning to Kempe now

Dennis Bernstein: The Los Angeles Kings are having ongoing talks with restricted free agent Adrian Kempe now that they’ve re-signed Alex Iafallo.

Two options for the Oilers with Puljujarvi now

Bob Stauffer: Ideally Jesse Puljujarvi would earn a top-nine spot in the Edmonton Oilers right side but it’s sounding like from Puljujarvi’s agent that it may not be an option. It appears to be down to two options now.

1. Puljujarvi is traded for a prospect and/or draft picks. The Tampa Bay Lightning and Carolina Hurricanes make some sense on that front.

2. Puljujarvi plays in Europe.

Jim Matheson: It’s time for the Oilers to move on Puljujarvi and trade him for another team’s former first-round pick, someone who could play in the NHL this season.

One option likes is Minnesota Wild center Joel Eriksson Ek.

No formal talks between the Devils and Hall’s camp yet

Abbey Mastracco: Taylor Hall has been skating this offseason in Toronto. He is still going over his contract decisions.

He’s been in touch with New Jersey Devils coach John Hynes, who believes that Hall is invested in the Devils.

Abbey Mastracco of NJ.com: Taylor Hall’s agent Darren Ferris has been talking to Devils GM Ray Shero but they haven’t held formal contract extension talks.

Hall has said several times that he’s not rushing to make a decision to sign an extension with the Devils or not.

“We had a discussion with our players about him and how he’s handled this whole situation,” Hynes said. “We stay in regular contact with him and this is part of the business. I think with the connections he’s made here and the relationships he has and how both parties are handling it, this is part of what it is and when it’s time to play and practice and be a part of the team I foresee no issues with that.”
