NHL Rumors: Blackhawks, Oilers, Canucks, and Blues
Vladmir Tarasenko and Brent Seabrook
Could the Blackhawks be able to move Seabrook?

James O’Brien: “I’ve floated this a few times, why not again? Are the Blackhawks ABSOLUTELY certain they couldn’t Seabrook onto the Oilers? He seems exactly up Chia’s alley, and possibly Hitch’s too.”

Should the Canucks go after a UFA goalie this offseason?

TSN Radio Vancouver: Jason Botchford on the Vancouver Canucks signing a free agent goaltender this offseason: “I’m closer to the do it side than a lot of people are, which troubles me. I know this is going to take years, but I look to next yr and I see a defense with Juolevi, Hughes, a defense that hasn’t improved much. I don’t want that group under water”

TSN Radio Vancouver: Botchford continues: “I don’t want Hughes and Juolevi watching Markstrom give games away. Do I want an environment where Hughes and Juolevi are on a team where the QB throws a pick-six to start each game? So I’m not sure I’m all in on Bobrovksy, but appreciate people who are.”

Could the Blues break up their core?

Chris Nichols of Nichols on Hockey: Elliotte Friedman was on the NHL Network talking about the St. Louis Blues and where they could be going next after their coaching change this week. GM Doug Armstrong said they will conduct a big search for their next head coach. Friedman thinks that interim coach Craig Berube will take a long look at some of their young players to see what they have in them.

Friedman also notes that GM Armstrong has talked about their core and if their time could be expiring.

“Now one of the guys I do wonder about there is Tarasenko. There have been rumors before that the Blues have not always been happy with him since he signed the big contract. I’ve never had anyone say that to me on the record. I’ve never had anybody give me a trade rumor that’s got his name in it. But it’s kind of been out there, guys.

“And if the Blues really want to make change, that’s a change they could make – although it’s very hard to win that trade because we all know how talented he is.”
