Scott Powers: Source is saying that all is quiet on the Blackhawks trade front.

Mark Lazerus: Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman on draft day trades: “Last year came together pretty quickly. We’re not close to doing a deal right . I’ve learned to never try to predict the future, so I can’t say for sure that we’re going to be making significant moves.”

Mark Lazerus: Bowman continued: “It’s difficult to predict the magnitude of changes going forward. All I can say is it’s our job to try to improve the team in the short term and keep in mind the long term, as well.”

Mark Lazerus: Bowman on trying to trade Marian Hossa‘s contract: “We’re looking at our options on that front. If you’re going to make a trade of that sort, you have to find a willing party. So there’s nothing to report on that front.”

On the Toronto Maple Leafs …

Jonas Siegel: Maple Leafs GM Kyle Dubas is expected to meet with the agent for William Nylander in the next couple days: “We’ve got lots of time and patience to work with that. There’s no real end-date in my mind. We’ll just keep working towards it.”

On the Edmonton Oilers …

Ryan Rishaug: The Oilers are still aggressively trying to acquire some help for their blue line with their No. 10 pick.

On the Carolina Hurricanes …

Chip Alexander: Cam Ward‘s agent said that he’d like to stay in Carolina but it’s looking like he’ll become an unrestricted free agent. Agent adds that there has been some interest.

On the Tampa Bay Lightning …

Joe Smith: Lightning GM Steve Yzerman said today they won’t be offering forward Chris Kunitz a contract for next season. Kunitz is hopeful to keep playing.

Joe Smith:  Yzerman doesn’t think they’ll be able to move up into the first round.

Joe Smith: Yzerman said they are hopeful to sign RFA goalie Louis Domingue and have already held talks. They are hopeful to sign their other RFAs – J.T. Miller, Slater Koekkoek, and Cedric Paquette.

On the Washington Capitals …

John Shannon: GM Brian McLellan said he’ll interview Todd Reirden for their head coaching position, though he already knows he’s ready to be a head coach.
