Clearing up the air on Lee

Neil Sheehy: (Anders Lee‘s agent) “There was NEVER a moment on this FA Day where it was even a possibility that Anders Lee was going to leave no matter what else happened. This type of “FAKE NEWS” fries my bananas! Anders Lee said the most important quality in a teammate is “LOYALTY” and he meant it.”

Renaud Lavoie: Adding to Sheehy’s statement – A few teams told yesterday that they checked in to see if Lee might be interested in playing for them and were told no, that he wanted to stay with the New York Islanders.

Clearing up the air on Pavelski

Kevin Kurz: Clearing up some notes on Joe Pavelski.

Pavelski didn’t leave the San Jose Sharks for the money. doesn’t believe that he received a concrete offer from the Sharks at all.

He was looking for a three-year deal and the Sharks would not do that.

If there were to have offered him a two-year deal at $6 million, that is $9 million less then what he got from the Dallas Stars.

Maroon still getting interest, including from the Blues and Oilers

Jim Thomas: Latest on free agent Patrick Maroon from last night. There are still several teams interested in Maroon and the St. Louis Blues are not out it.

As of last night, he was not close to signing a deal, with the plan to sleep on his options.

The Edmonton Oilers are believed to be in the mix.

Maple Leafs newly acquired Kerfoot expected to file for arbitration

Darren Dreger: It is expected that newly acquired Toronto Maple Leafs forward Alex Kerfoot will file for salary arbitration. When looking at his production levels, he would likely be awarded something above $3 million.
