Crawford will be ready for the start of the season

Mark Lazerus: Chicago Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville says that they expect goaltender Corey Crawford to be ready for training camp and the start of the season. Goaltender Anton Forsberg will likely be put on waivers before the start of the season as they don’t plan on carrying three goalies.

Lombardi joins the Flyers

Elliotte Friedman: Dean Lombardi said yesterday that he has signed a three-year contract with the Philadelphia Flyers that doesn’t have an out clause. One other team had contacted him before he signed on with the Flyers but he said no. He wouldn’t say if it were the Vancouver Canucks when asked.

Elliotte Friedman: Lombardi had already committed to the Flyers before the Canucks speculation came up the past few days.

Dave Isaac: Lombardi position with the Flyers is a Senior Advisor to the GM.

Capitals lock Wilson up for six years

Washington Capitals: The Capitals have re-signed forward Tom Wilson to a six-year contract with a salary cap hit of $5.17 million.

“Tom is an invaluable member of our team and we are pleased that he is committed to sign a long-term deal at this point in his career,” said MacLellan. “Tom is a unique player in this league, in that he plays a physical game, leads by example, and contributes in every facet of the game. At 24 years of age, he is just entering his prime and we believe that he will only continue to excel and improve as a player.”

Cap Friendly: Wilson’s deal buys four years of unrestricted free agency.

Cap Friendly: Wilson will earn $15 million in salary and $16 million in signing bonuses.
