Eric Stephens: Goaltender Ryan Miller was put on the IR with an upper-body injury as they need the roster space to activate defenseman Cam Fowler from the IR.

On the Boston Bruins …

Joe Haggerty: Forwards Brad Marchand and Ryan Spooner are progressing and are both expected to practice today. Defenseman Torey Krug met with doctors yesterday. Forward Anders Bjork is not ready to practice yet.

On the Dallas Stars …

Mark Stepneski: Defenseman Marc Methot had his knee scoped yesterday and will be out for four to six weeks. Forward Martin Hanzal will be out three to seven days with a hand injury.

On the Minnesota Wild …

Sarah McLellan of the Star-Tribune: The Wild activated forward Charlie Coyle off the LTIR yesterday. The Wild will be putting Zach Parise on the LTIR after his Oct. 24th back surgery.

Michael Russo: Hearing that Zach Parise will start doing some skating next week. It will just be conditioning and not with pucks just yet.

On the Nashville Predators …

Robby Stanley: Defenseman Ryan Ellis has been skating for a while now, but hasn’t practiced. His original timeframe to return was around Christmas.

On the Ottawa Senators …

Ken Warren: The Senators have recalled defenseman Thomas Chabot from the AHL.

On the Philadelphia Flyers …

Dave Isaac: Defenseman Andrew MacDonald is close to coming off the IR. He won’t be in the lineup tonight and probably not on Wednesday.

On the Pittsburgh Penguins …

Pittsburgh Penguins: The Penguins reassigned defenseman Frank Corrado to the AHL.

On the St. Louis Blues …

Jim Thomas: Coach Mike Yeo said they expect defenseman Jay Bouwmeester to play Tuesday night against the Oilers.

Lou Korac: Yeo said that forward Patrik Berglund is progressing. They don’t expect him to play tonight, but “I would say that we’re inching closer here.”

On the Vancouver Canucks …

Jeff Paterson: Both Troy Stecher and Chris Tanev took part in their full practice yesterday.

On the Washington Capitals …

Tarik El-Bashir: Christian Djoos (upper-body) hasn’t started skating yet according to coach Barry Trotz. He has increased his off-ice physical activity. Trotz said he’s hopeful to get on the ice today.
