On the Arizona Coyotes …

Arizona Coyotes: The Coyotes assign defenseman Dakota Mermis to the AHL.

On the Buffalo Sabres …

Bill Hoppe of Buffalo Hockey Beat: Coach Phil Housley said that defenseman Zach Bogosian (lower-body) and forward Jacob Josefson (lower-body) have been skating, but are still listed as week-to-week.

On the Columbus Blue Jackets …

CBJ PR: The Blue Jackets recalled defenseman Gabriel Carlsson, winger Sonny Milano and goaltender Joonas Korpisalo. The Blue Jackets assign goaltender Matiss Kivlenieks to the AHL.

On the Ottawa Senators …

Ken Warren of the Ottawa Sun: Senators defenseman Chris Wideman is already out for an extended period of time, and now defenseman Mark Borowiecki is out.

Senators coach Guy Boucher confirmed after the game that Borowiecki suffered a concussion and was unconscious after being hit. Rangers Brendan Smith received a five-minute match penalty for boarding.

On the San Jose Sharks …

Curtis Pashelka of The Mercury News: Forward Joe Pavelski has been playing through an unspecified injury for a while. He’ll likely be playing tonight.

“Joe’s playing at not 100 percent, and I’ll be honest, a lot of guys maybe even wouldn’t be out there, dealing with what he’s dealing with,” Sharks coach Pete DeBoer said Sunday. “He’s giving us what he can, and that still is effective.”

Pavelski thinks he’s good enough to play through it and won’t come out of the lineup.

“It’ll get better, but the reality is he has something going on and that’s part of it,” DeBoer said. “To his credit, he won’t come out of the lineup. He’s out there giving us what he can.”

On the Winnipeg Jets …

Jamie Thomas: The Jets recalled Tucker Poolman. Defenseman Toby Enstrom will be out for eight weeks with a lower-body injury. The injury is not related to his previous knee issues.
