Paul Gackle of The Mercury News: Coach Pete DeBoer said that it’s doubtful that Joe Thornton will return to the lineup for any of their three remaining regular season games. Thornton was on their ice for their 30-minute practice yesterday.

“Whether it’s at the beginning of playoffs or partway through the playoffs, he’s making good strides,” DeBoer said. “We’re seeing him here, he’s on the ice with us, so we know that’s on the horizon.”

On the St. Louis Blues …

St. Louis Blues: Forward Scottie Upshall is out indefinitely with a lacerated left kidney. He suffered the injury on Saturday.

Henrik and Daniel Sedin on NHL.com: The Sedin’s will be retiring after 18 seasons on the NHL.

“We started the year with the mindset that a decision would be made in the postseason. But it became clear, after discussions with our families throughout the year, that this will be our last season. This feels right for all of us.”

Elliotte Friedman: When asked if Thursday would be their last game as it’s in Vancouver, they said no and that they plan on go to Edmonton for Saturday’s game.
