Kyle Bukauskas: Ottawa Senators coach Guy Boucher had said he had planned to have Zack Smith centering Mark Stone and Brady Tkachuk throughout this week. It seems that the coach didn’t see Smith being placed on waivers either.

Don Brennan: Boucher said that if Smith clears waivers, he would still be in the same spot on their depth chart. So it appears that him being on waivers is strictly a money move.
