Austin Czarnik is going to be a group 6. We’ve had discussions with Austin. I think Austin is intrigued by what may exist elsewhere.”

On the Buffalo Sabres …

Sabres PR: The Sabres didn’t sign Brandon Hagel, Austin Osmanski and Vojteck Budik and they will re-enter the draft.

On the Colorado Avalanche …

Ryan Boulding: The Avalanche elect not to Slovakian goalie Maximilian Pajpach.

On the Florida Panthers …

Matthew DeFranks: The Panthers were not able to sign Adam Mascherin and he will re-enter the draft.

Jason Botchford: This has been the fourth time in the past six years that GM Dale Tallon hasn’t been able to sign a prospect – Joonas Donskoi, Zach Hyman, Iiro Pakarinen and now Mascherin.

Florida Panthers: The Panthers have signed Bogdan Kiselevich to a one-year deal.

Jameson Olive: Keselevich on picking to sign with the Panthers: “After my first talk with Dale, I called my agent and told him this was the No. 1 team on my list.”

On the Ottawa Senators …

Bruce Garrioch: Assistant GM Randy Lee has been charged with harassment, which is less than a misdemeanor.

Bruce Garrioch: Lee has been released by police. He was involved in an incident with an employee at the Westin Hotel.

James Mirtle: Maple Leafs GM Kyle Dubas is happy with the way his front office looks at the moment and doesn’t plan on adding anyone else until after the draft.

On the Vegas Golden Knights …

SinBin.Vegas: The Golden Knights signed 2017 second-rounder Jake Leschyshyn and seventh-rounder Ben Jones. They also signed free agent Gage Quinney who was born in Las Vegas.

On the Washington Capitals …

Washington Capitals: Forward Evgeny Kuznetsov returned to practice yesterday and will be a game-time decision for Game 3 tonight.

Mike Vogel: The Capitals decided not to sign 2014 seventh-round pick Kevin Elgestal and 2016 seventh-round pick Dmitriy Zaitsev. Elgestal will be a UFA and Zaitsev will re-enter the draft.
