Boston Bruins: Coach Bruce Cassidy said that defenseman Torey Krug was given a maintenance day yesterday is available for tonight. Forward Ryan Spooner will have his lower-body injury re-evaluated today. Forward Jake DeBrusk will be a game-time decision.

Ansar Khan: Forward Henrik Zetterberg didn’t practice yesterday.

Eric Engels: Forward Jonathan Drouin is questionable for tonight because of a virus.

New York Rangers: The Rangers have officially signed goaltender Marek Mazanec and assigned him to the AHL.

On the Pittsburgh Penguins …

Pittsburgh Penguins: Coach Mike Sullivan of goaltender Matt Murray’s status:  “He’s making progress. He’s skating on his own… That’s the process that he’s going through: no equipment, then full equipment, then he’ll join us for practice.”

Pens Inside Scoop: Coach Sullivan on defenseman Justin Schultz:  “I don’t have an update. I know he was being evaluated this morning. I don’t have the results yet. His status is the same as I gave you last night.”

Josh Yohe: Sullivan said that Schultz “isn’t probably” for tonight’s game.

On the Philadelphia Flyers …

Philadelphia Flyers: Defenseman Brandon Manning will be out for three to four weeks with an upper-body injury. Goaltender Michal Neuvirth will be out a week with a lower-body injury.

Sam Carchidi: Flyers GM Ron Hextall said the AHL defensemen Samuel Morin and Phillip Myers would be out with their injuries for another week or two.

On the Washington Capitals …

Tarik El-Bashir: Forward T.J. Oshie is day-to-day with an upper-body. He didn’t practice with the team yesterday but did work worth trainers. Not sure when he’ll return to practice. Forward Andre Burakovsky could return as early as Friday.
