Brian Hedger: Murray has been out for 31 games: “It’s not fun, you know, regardless of how the team is doing. You don’t want to be sitting there, especially when you can’t train and you can’t get back in the lineup. It sucks.”

Eric Engels: Phillip Danault practice for the first time since suffering a concussion on January 13th.

John Lu: Danault said vertigo was the only concussion symptom that he had after being hit by Zdeno Chara‘s slapshot.

Chris Ryan of NJ.com: The Devils put goaltender Cory Schneider on the IR with a groin injury retroactive to January 23rd. The Devils recalled Nick Lappen from the AHL.

Matt Calamia: The Rangers have recalled Ryan Sproul from the AHL. Steve Kampfer will be out for four to six weeks with a fractured hand.

On the Ottawa Senators …

Bruce Garrioch: The Senators recalled Max McCormick from the AHL.

Brent Wallace: Coach Guy Boucher said that Gabriel Dumont is “hopeful” for Thursday’s game.

Brent Wallace: Forward Nate Thompson won’t be in the lineup tonight.

On the Philadelphia Flyers …

Tim Panaccio: Shouldn’t be a shock to anyone that goaltender Brian Elliott has been dealing with a persistent groin pull that has him in and out of the lineup.

On the Toronto Maple Leafs …

Jonas Siegel: Maple Leafs GM Lou Lamoriello said that Nikita Soshnikov will remain on the IR after he was recalled from his conditioning stint.

Jonas Siegel: Lamoriello added that he needs more NHL practices before he’s ready. “There’s no illegality to this. We’re not doing anything that isn’t the normal process.”

Dhiren Mahiban: Soshnikov’s agent said yesterday that Soshnikov is “going to take the day off today and take it from there.”

Cap Friendly: “CBA 13.9, which talks to LTI Conditioning Loans, explains that the goal of LTI conditioning is solely to determine if the player is fit to play. If the club & team doctors feel the player is not yet ready at the conclusion of his cond. stint, he can be recalled & remain on IR.”

Cap Friendly: “Earlier this season, both Zach Parise , & Micro Mueller , were placed on Injured Reserve, then sent to the AHL on an LTI Conditioning Loan, & when recalled placed back on IR. Parise for an additional 4 days post conditioning stint, & Mueller for 8 days.”
