Eric Engels: Forward Andrew Shaw will have surgery next Tuesday on his knee.

Montreal Canadiens: The Canadiens have signed prospect Jake Evans to a two-year entry-level deal. The deal kicks in next season.

Andrew Gross: Both GM Garth Snow and head coach Doug Weight have been led to believe that they will back next year.

Andrew Gross: Forward Nikolay Kulemin has been out since November 7th with a shoulder injury. He said that he’s close to returning and could have been ready if they had made the playoffs.

Pens Inside Scoop: Forward Derick Brassard said that he felt good after yesterday’s practice but it’s not known if he’ll be ready for Wednesday’s Game 1 against the Flyers. He was skating on a line with Conor Sheary and Phil Kessel.
