Elliotte Friedman: The Anaheim Ducks have asked for a two-year deal at a salary cap hit of $1.5 million, while Montour asked for a one-year deal at $4.75 million.

Cap Friendly: “ Brandon Montour is 3 years away from Free Agency, meaning a 2 year deal would see him expire as an RFA with Arb rights in 2020. Seeing as this was a ‘Player Elected’ arbitration request, it is the club that gets to decide on the awarded term (1 or 2) ”

Jets and Tanev get a deal done before arbitration …

Cap Friendly: The Winnipeg Jets and Brandon Tanev agree on a one-year, $1.15 million deal before their July 25th salary arbitration date.

Ken Wiebe: Tanev will be an unrestricted free agent after next season.

Ken Wiebe: Forward Marko Dano is the Jets last remaining player who has an arbitration date scheduled. thinks they’ll get a deal done before the July 30th hearing.

Arbitrator rules on Trouba …

Darren Dreger: The arbitrated has award Winnipeg Jets defenseman Jacob Trouba a one-year deal worth $5.5 million.

Mike McIntyre: After the Trouba ruling the Jets have $66.5 $65.35 million in cap space taken up for 18 players. The leaves them with about $13 $11.85 million cap space, but that number is closer to $9.3 8.5 if factoring in future performance bonuses. Jets still needing new contracts include Josh Morrissey, Tucker Poolman, Brendan Tanev, Marko Dano, and Nic Petan.
