Craig Davis: Coach Bob Boughner said that forward Aleksander Barkov will be out tonight but could be ready to return on Monday.

Matt Cudzinowski: Forward Jonathan Drouin practiced on a line with Alex Galchenyuk and Andrew Shaw yesterday. He’s expected to be back in the lineup tonight.

“I feel good. It was tough on the body for a few days,” said Drouin, who dropped a few pounds as a result of his illness. “The virus was tougher than the injury. It would have been tough to play . I didn’t really have energy and I had trouble moving. I went on the ice for a bit , but it wasn’t a big skate.”

Chris Ryan Of NJ.com: Forward Kyle Palmieri started skating a couple days ago. He broke his right foot blocking a shot on Nov. 20th and was expected to be out for four to six weeks. It’s looking like he could return on the lower-end of that projection.
