Minnesota Wild: Coach Bruce Boudreau on Eric Staal who missed last night’s game: “He was sick today, so we’ll see how he feels tomorrow.”

Raanta tweaks something

Craig Morgan: Arizona Coyotes goaltender Antti Raanta tweaked something at practice and left early for precautionary reasons. The Coyotes are off today and play the Flyers on Thursday.

Catherine Silverman: The Coyotes recall of goaltender Dakota Mermis was made yesterday as it’s easier to call up before they headed on an eastern road trip. Defensemen Alex Goligoski and Jason Demers were given maintenance days yesterdays.

Anderson and Ryan leave early … Tkachuk close

Bruce Garrioch: Ottawa Senators goaltender Craig Anderson and forward Bobby Ryan left last night’s game early for precautionary reasons, but both should be fine.

Brent Wallace: Senators coach Guy Boucher said that Brady Tkachuk had been wanting to play last night but he isn’t quite ready yet: “We are hopeful he is in on Thursday.”

Tanev returns

Ben Kuzma: Vancouver Canucks defenseman Chris Tanev (hip) was able to return last night.

Brooks Bratten: Nashville Predators forward Viktor Arvidsson (IR) was on the ice yesterday in a no-contact jersey and didn’t take part in line rushes.

Jonathan David: Los Angeles Kings forward Gabriel Vilardi was out for their morning skate yesterday.

Mrazek out

Michael Smith of NHL.com: Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Petr Mrazek is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury. He suffered the injury on Friday.

Bouwmeester not 100 percent

Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: St. Louis Blues defenseman Jay Bouwmeester has struggled this season after coming off of hip surgery last spring.

He was made a healthy scratch for the second time this season. Coach Mike Yeo said that Bouwmeester’s hip is not 100 percent.

“I see that physically, he’s not there yet,” Yeo said. “So right now it’s a good opportunity for him to get some extra therapy on his hip, to get some extra work in at practice.”
