Bergeron and Chara getting close

Joe Haggerty of NBC Sports: Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron has missed the past 14 games with a rib/sternoclavicular injury. It’s looking like Bergeron could take part in practice on Wednesday and it’s possible he could return to the lineup by the end of the week.

“I think Bergeron will practice with us ,” said Cassidy, who indicated that Bergeron skated again on Sunday morning ahead of. “We’re hoping he’ll skate with the team. Whether that means he’ll play Thursday, Saturday or Sunday, I don’t know. But at least he’s one step closer. We’re hoping that’s how it will play out.”

Defenseman Zdeno Chara is not as close as Bergeron is to returning but is still expected to ready around Christmas.
