Boston Bruins: Coach Bruce Cassidy said that Patrice Bergeron was given a maintenance day yesterday.

Torey Krug had a day off and will be back practicing today.

Matt Grzelcyk, Marcus Johansson, and Kevan Miller will be practicing with the team in Florida.

Stepan very close

Craig Morgan: Arizona Coyotes coach Rick Tocchet said that forward Derek Stepan is “very very close” to being able to return to the lineup. He could return on the weekend.

Eberle traveling … Filppula out a month

Brian Heyman: New York Islanders coach Barry Trotz said that forward Jordan Eberle will be traveling with the team. He’s still listed as day-to-day.

Andrew Gross: Islanders forward Valtteri Filppula will be out for four weeks with an upper-body injury.

Upper-body issue for Ceci

Sens Communications: Ottawa Senators defenseman Cody Ceci left last night’s game early with an upper-body injury.

Pavelski and Karlsson traveling

Curtis Pashelka: San Jose Sharks forward Joe Pavelski and defenseman Erik Karlsson will travel with the team to Los Angeles. Pavelski said it’s unlikely that he plays, but a small chance that he’s able to.

Girardi and Stralman updates

Bryan Burns: Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Dan Girardi is now out indefinitely, so he must have had a setback. Girardi and Anton Stralman were not on the ice yesterday.

Joe Smith: Stralman won’t play during their three-game road trip but he could play next week.

Caley Chelios: Lightning coach Jon Cooper: “Jan Rutta‘s up here. As long as Dan’s out we got to have other guys filling in to fill the void. He’s done a really good job so far, hopefully we get Stralman back soon to give us a little bit more depth.”

Fleury day-to-day

Jesse Granger: Vegas Golden Knights coach Gerard Gallant said that Marc-Andre Fleury is day-to-day with a lower-body injury. If Fleury feels good enough today he could play but Gallant isn’t expecting it.

MRI today for Hughes

John Shannon: Vancouver Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes saw a doctor last night and will have another MRI today. When he’ll be able to make is NHL debut is still not known.

Ben Kuzma: Canucks defenseman Ben Hutton is still in a walking boot. There was no update on his status.

Beaulieu day-to-day

Jason Bell: Winnipeg Jets defenseman Nathan Beaulieu missed last night’s game is listed as day-to-day.
