Dvorak is out for at least several months but they could gain another center as early as tomorrow

Craig Morgan of The Athletic: Center Christian Dvorak had surgery on Friday to repair his torn pectoral muscle. He’ll be out indefinitely, “a number of months” according to GM John Chayka, with the possibility of it being the rest of the season.

“It’s a long-term thing,” Chayka said on a conference call. “The doctors have told us it’s a fairly unique injury, especially for hockey players. The severity of the tear differs from person to person and obviously being a young person helps his ability to recover. You hope it’s not the (rest of the) season, but it’s not out of the question.”

Forward Alex Galchenyuk has been cleared for contact and is traveling with the team. He is getting close to making his Coyotes debut and it could come as early as Tuesday.

Flyers will need to make some goaltending decisions soon

Tom Dougherty and Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia: The Philadelphia Flyers are having goaltending issues again.

Brian Elliott has let in soft goals and isn’t always reliable. Calvin Pickard is a fringe NHL backup goaltender and Michal Neuvirth has injury issues.

It still may be too early to promote Carter Hart. With goaltender Alex Lyon healthy now, they also have three goalies at the AHL level.

They will need to make some goaltending decisions soon.
