Rangers lose Gaborik and Drury … Ballard leaves Canucks game … Souray makes AHL debut … Someone wearing #66
  • Jesse Spector NY Daily News: The New York Rangers lost Marian Gaborik last night for 2-3 weeks with a separated shoulder after taking a hit from Colby Armstrong. Chris Drury was also injured last night in his first game back after a broken index finger as he broke the same finger, but in a different spot, he’ll be out 6 weeks. Vinny Prospal will have knee surgery on Tuesday, and will be out indefinitely. Erik Christensen is expected to be back in the lineup on Monday after sitting out last night’s game.
  • Sheldon Souray made his AHL debut last night in a 7-1 Hershey Bears victory, recording 1 assist and was a +3 with 2 PIMs.
  • Erik Duhatschek of the Globe and Mail: Calgary Flames rookie TJ Brodie will be wearing the number 66 this season. That doesn’t seem right to me, it’s one of those rare numbers that shouldn’t be worn by just anyone. Duncan Keith averaged just over 32 minutes of ice time through the first 4 games.
