Late Morning Rumors: Kadri, Gardiner, Gagner, Skinner, Briere, Kane and some Goaltenders
  • The Fourth Period: Maple Leafs GM Dave Nonis is still looking for a top-six forward. It is thought that he could be willing to trade Nazem Kadri and Jake Gardiner if they get the right offer. The Rangers, Devils, Flyers and Oilers have reportedly inquired about Gardiner. The Oilers are actively shopping Sam Gagner. The Leafs and Oilers have scouted each other this season, but it’s not known if trade talks have progressed. The Leafs had shown interest in Jeff Skinner in the past, but Hurricanes are not looking to trade him at this time.
  • The Fourth Period: There were rumors that the Sabres and Canadiens were discussing a deal involving Daniel Briere, but talks have quieted. With Alex Galchenyuk breaking his hand and out for six weeks, Briere may be staying put for the time being. The Canadiens have inquired about Jets Evander Kane.
  • Dan Rosen of NHL.com: (mailbag) Rosen can see the Capitals and Blues making goaltender moves. The Hurricanes shouldn’t do anything while Cam Ward is injured. The same can be said for the Ducks and Viktor Fasth. Trading Jonas Hiller would obviously be a mistake. Philipp Grubauer’s play has made Michal Neuvirth available. Neuvirth to the Islanders makes sense.
