Landsberg talks depression, Belak … Lombardi and Pronger progressing well … KHL and NHL to meet
  • Jonas Siegel of TSN Radio 1050: Maple Leafs forward Matthew Lombardi scrimmaged with teammates earlier this week. Lombardi missed 80 games last year in Nashville.

“It’s getting better,” he explained. “I’m definitely not where I need to be in terms of my fitness, but with every day we’re pushing it a little bit more and I’m getting work done in the gym and obviously pushing her on the ice. It’s coming real good.”

“I wish I could have a date and have that in mind, but obviously training camp is coming pretty quick here. We’ll see how it progresses the next few days and go from there.”

  • Frank Seravalli of the Philadelphia Daily News: Flyers defenseman Chris Pronger is progressing well with his rehab.

“I think he is doing better than even he thought he would,” Holmgren said. “He’s pushed the envelope a little bit over the last few days, going on the ice and shooting the puck. I asked him the other day how far behind he is in terms of what he normally would have done, he said he probably would have skated a couple weeks ago.”

“I think he’s right on track for all he’s been through,” Holmgren said. “I’m excited for him being ready at the start of the season and I think he is, too.”
