LA a possible destination for Kaberle … Not much progress on a Souray Move … Ryan turns down $25 million

Derek Van Diest via Toronto Sun: Yesterday Sheldon Souray’s no trade clause was lifted. GM Steve Tambellini has had some discussions, but hasn’t made a lot of progress. The LA Kings and San Jose Sharks could be interested.

David Shoalts of the Globe and Mail: After adding Colby Armstrong and Kris Versteeg the last couple days, Brian Burke will let the dust settle before adding a couple depth players. Burke could still be interested in Marc Savard and may be hoping to send out Mikhael Grabovski. The LA Kings may be the best fit for a Tomas Kaberle deal.

Ben Kuzma of the Vancouver Province: With 8 blueliners under contract and only about $2 million to sign 4 defensemen, Kevin Bieksa could be on the move. He’s making $3.75 million and could be their 6th defenseman. They could look for a draft pick in return. The team is saying they are keeping him, but that could be a posturing move.

JP Hoornstra of the LA Daily News: There was no word out of the Ilya Kovalchuk camp on what he’ll be doing next year. The Kings and Devils could both be interested. The Kings may be looking for a reasonable priced defenseman after losing O’Donnell. Bobby Ryan have turned down a 5 year, $25 million extension from the Ducks on Wednesday according to Ducks GM Bob Murray.
