  • Chris Botta via twitter: “Still no confirmation that #Isles move to Brooklyn in 2015 is a PERMANENT relocation. Could be some news (and spin) at presser.”

11:45 am:

  • BD Gallof via twitter: From last spring about possible Islanders move to Brooklyn: 1. How many more seats can the Barclays Center hold? (remains to be determined and expect this checked) 2. Islanders’ potentially get piece of Barclay’s MASSIVE luxury suites 3. Barclays 14,500 seats will be priced 25 percent higher than the seats at Coliseum, which would be equivalent to 17,300 seat 4. Brooklyn market allows cable deal to continue, AND it allows for the possibility that the next TV deal be, in fact, even larger
  • John Shannon via twitter: “It’s 28 Miles from Nassau Coliseum to Barclays Center.Big question is whether or not fans in Nassau and Suffolk County will make the drive.”

11:28 am:

  • Billy Jaffe via twitter: The Islander have had talks with many potential buyers. It will be interesting to see if Charles Wang will own all or part of the Islanders in this deal.
  • Tim Panaccio via twitter: Only in the NHL can you have a lockout and have a team announcing it’s moving from Nassau to Brooklyn.
  • David Seifman of the NY Post: The Barclay’s arena will now be the home of the Islanders when their lease expires. The press conference will be announced this afternoon with developer Bruce Ratner, Mayor Bloomberg, Islanders owner Charles Wang, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman and Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz.
