  • Curtis Zupke of NHL.com: Canadiens defenseman Andrei Markov will have minor knee surgery and will be out about 3 more weeks. “Markov’s knee is almost at full strength,” Gauthier said. “He’s undergoing arthroscopic surgery to clean up debris.”
  • Frank Seravalli of the Philadelphia Daily News: The Flyers may have lost another defenseman, as Andrej Meszaros looked to injury his right shoulder. Flyers GM Paul Holmgren doesn’t believe it’s “anything serious.” He’ll be examined today by team doctors.
  • The Globe and Mail: Canucks forward Aaron Volpatti requires shoulder surgery and he’ll be out for the rest of the season.
