Injuries: Rangers, Blue Jackets, Oilers, Avs, Capitals and Flyers
  • Katie Strang: Rangers Henrik Lundqvist will miss at least three weeks with a vascular injury. They are consulting with medical experts. Steve Zipay: Not getting any sense that Lundqvist’s season or career are in jeopardy.
  • Aaron Portzline: The Blue Jackets lost defensemen Ryan Murray and James Wisniewski last night. They will be evaluated today but will not travel with the team to Ottawa.
  • Jack Michaels: Oilers Taylor Hall and Benoit Pouliot are “highly unlikely” for tomorrow night. There is a “strong possibility” that Martin Marincin plays.
  • Colorado Avalanche: Avs coach Patrick Roy said that Tyson Barrie will be traveling with the team, but is day-to-day.
  • Adam Vingan: Capitals coach Barry Trotz expects defenseman Mike Green to play on Sunday. They will keep Cam Schilling around just in case Green can’t go.
  • Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer: Flyers Kimmo Timonen took to the ice yesterday for the first time in over nine months.

“It was kind of a weird feeling this morning,” Timonen said after skating at the team’s practice facility in Voorhees on Friday. “I was kind of a little nervous that hopefully I wouldn’t fall down right away. I was so excited looking forward to this morning. I couldn’t really sleep last night.”

Timonen was on the ice for 40 minutes with trainer Jim McCrossin watching from the bench. The 40-year old Timonen will skate by himself for about a week before joining Flyers practices.

Braydon Coburn skated after Timonen and appears at least a week away from returning.
