Eastern Conference Injuries: Canadiens, Lightning, Red Wings, Islanders and Senators
The Ottawa Senators have lost Brady Tkachuk for a month.
Canadiens lose a defenseman

John Lu: Montreal Canadiens defenseman Victor Mete is day-to-day with a minor hand injury.

Callahan ahead of schedule

Joe Smith: Tampa Bay Lightning forward Ryan Callahan is getting close to returning to the lineup. He could be ready this weekend. Coach Jon Cooper said that Callahan is “way ahead of schedule,” which was a November 1st targeted date.

Injury updates on Red Wings defensemen

Ansar Khan: Detroit Red Wings defenseman Trevor Daley will return to the lineup tonight.

Defenseman Danny DeKeyser doesn’t need surgery after seeing a hand specialist. He’ll be out for the next two games.

Defenseman Jonathan Ericsson is still out with his upper-body injury.

Defenseman Mike Green is still a couple weeks away but will start skating with the team on their road trip.

Cizikas activated

Andrew Gross: The New York Islanders activated forward Casey Cizikias off the IR.

Senators lose rookie Tkachuk for a month

Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun: Ottawa Senators rookie forward Brady Tkachuk will be out for a month after tearing a ligament in his left leg.

Tkachuk was injured in the first period but finished the game and ended up scoring the game-winning goal in the third period.

Surgery is not required.

“The real tough one is Brady,” Boucher said when asked to update the club’s injury list at the Robert Guertin Arena. “Brady has a torn ligament in his leg and will be out about a month. That’s a very tough one. It’s a tough one for him but it’s also a very tough one for us because he was doing so well.”

Other Senators injuries include Cody Ceci (upper-body), Ryan Dzingel (lower-body), Max McCormick (lower-body) and Alex Formenton (concussion).

The Senators are hopeful that Dzingel and McCormick could play this weekend. Ceci and Formenton won’t be ready for this weekend.
