Draft Hits: Leafs talking No. 5, Bruins and Flames talking, Panthers, Hurricanes and Devils
  • TSN Radio: Darren Dreger is reporting there is a strong chance that the Maple Leafs could move into the top 5. They’ve been talking with the Hurricanes.

  • George Richards: Panthers GM Dale Tallon said he’s talked to the Avalanche about moving up to No. 1.
  • Chip Alexander: The Hurricanes are getting a “lot of interest” in the No. 5 pick.
  • Tim Panaccio: The Flyers are out on the Flames No. 6 pick. Price too high.
  • Craig Custance of ESPN: Devils GM Lou Lamoriello on their No. 9 draft slot.

    “Any team that doesn’t want to move up or down depending on what’s available is kidding you,” he said. “If you can get something that’s better than where you’re at — we’ve done everything over the years. We’ve moved up, we’ve moved down. We’ve given our first pick; we haven’t signed our first pick. We’ve done a few things. You just have to do what’s best for the team.”
