Video and Notes: Johnson, Pacioretty, Salo, Kane, and the Bruins
  • Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times: Lightning’s Tyler Johnson had his brace removed from his broken right wrist yesterday. His recovery has been on time and is hopeful that he’ll be ready for the start of training camp. He has been limited to cardio, core work and light upper-body workouts.
  • Arpon Basu of NHL.com: Canadiens Max Pacioretty’s rehab on his knee is going as scheduled.

“Max has always surprised us with his ability to return a little bit earlier than scheduled,” Therrien said. “But right now everything’s going well, he’s recovering well, and that’s good news.”

Juha Hiitela: Sami Salo is retiring. He missed all of last season with a wrist injury.

  • Stacy St. Clair and Jared Hopkins of the Chicago Tribune: EA Sports has dropped Patrick Kane from the cover of ‘NHL 16’ and he won’t be involved in any promotional activities. The Buffalo News is being told by sources that Kane is being investigated for a rape allegation, where Tribune sources have confirmed that authorities are looking into a sexual assault complaint. Kane also has endorsement deals with McDonald’s, Chevrolet, Gatorade and Bauer.
