Thought from the media …

  • Pierre LeBrun: “No salary retained in that Sharks-Leafs deal. Ben Smith and Alex Stalock going back the other way took care of that.”
  • Pierre LeBrun: “Really like that move by the Sharks, Martin Jones-James Reimer a solid duo”
  • Shawn Simpson: “Reimer might not play much for Sharks. My guess he signs with Flames in the summer. He does bring game 7 experience to Sharks!!! 🙂 “
  • Kevin Kurz: “Reimer could be put to use very soon. Martin Jones has started 15 of last 16, and Sharks host Montreal Monday in second of back-to-back”
  • Anthony Petrielli: “Thought Reimer was becoming special when he dragged the team on his back to the playoffs. Then they acquired Bernier &he was never the same.”
  • Scott Cullen: “Seems rather inexpensive for SJ goaltending insurance.”
  • General Fanager: “#Sharks meanwhile projected to end the season with $136,210 in space, $633,374 cap space on deadline day.”
  • General Fanager: “#Leafs now have 28 picks in next 3 drafts. 17 of which are in the first 4 rounds.”
  • Jason Brough: “Everyone saying the Leafs didn’t do well in that trade. Stalock might be the worst goalie in the NHL. They did great!”
  • Rob Longley: “#Sharks GM Doug Wilson: “James is an experience goaltender who will add to our depth … as we head down the stretch.” #Leafs”
  • Scott Wheeler: “It’ll be 5-6 years before the Leafs know if they got anything from the only goalie to take them to the playoffs in a decade.”
