  • Don Brennan of the Ottawa Sun: Looking at if “every team in the league would take that guy right now,” for the Senators. Craig Anderson – probably not. Jason Spezza – no. If he’s not on your top two lines, he’s not on your team. Bobby Ryan – maybe as a right winger, but would unseat Marian Hossa and Patrick Kane in Chicago. Kyle Turris – maybe as a 3rd or 4th liner. Erik Karlsson – for sure. Chris Neil – absolutely. Zack Smith – possibly. Jared Cowen – maybe, maybe not. Marc Methot – maybe, maybe not. Clark MacArthur – yes.
  • Brittany Wallman of the Sun Sentinel: The Panthers are saying they are losing over $20 million a year and need more public money to survive. They are looking to redo their lease with Broward County. They also want to create a hotel and casino on the 22 acres north of the BB&T arena.

    “This organization has lost between $20 [million] and $30 million on an annual basis,” Yormark said, “and those dollars have been funded by our owners.”

  • St. Louis Blues: The Blues signed Ryan Reaves to a four-year contract extension worth $4.5 million.
  • Dirk Hoag: The Predators have sent Filip Forsberg to the AHL.
  • Helene St. James: The Red Wings have recalled Riley SheahanAnsar Khan: Coach Mike Babcock said that if Darren Helm isn’t ready for Saturday, he’d like to have Sheahan in at center. Wants to keep Justin Abdelkader on the wing.
