  • TSN: Trade Bait: potentially on the move: 1. Antoine Vermette 2. Jeff Petry 3. Zbynek Michalek 4. Erik Cole 5. Chris Stewart 6. Curtis Glencross 7. Jaromir Jagr 8. Jay McClement 9. Jan Hejda 10. Tyler Bozak
  • Darren Dreger of TSN: As of Monday, 14 teams have expressed interest in Boston University free agent goalie Matt O’Connor according to sources, with five teams promising NHL action this year. The Maple Leafs, Senators, Oilers, Canucks, Flames, Sabres and Coyotes are among the teams interested.
  • Darren Dreger: The Canucks and Senators have been interested in college free agent O’Connor from the start. He’s been to both of their development camps.
  • Jim Matheson: The Oilers have been all over O’Connor for months. Oilers goalie cupboard is almost bare.
  • Jeff Peterson: Canucks GM Jim Benning talked to the Panthers about Sean Bergenhim and the Hurricanes about Jiri Tlusty, but didn’t like the asking price. Benning also confirmed that they are interested in college free agent goalie O’Connor.
  • News 1130 Sports: Canucks UFA Brad Richardson’s agent, Mark Guy: “We have not begun any formal contract discussions at this time.”
  • Pat Leonard of the NY Daily News: Jeff Petry could interest the Red Wings and they have the cap space. The Rangers have about $1.5 million in cap space and are reluctant to trade high draft picks and assets. Sportsnet reported that the Rangers could consider trading Mats Zuccarello for a high draft pick, then flip it. Seems crucial they they add depth up front and on the blueline.
  • EJ Hradek: Oilers Jeff Petry and Coyotes Zbnyek Michalek are now on the clock. The Flyers are looking to move a defenesman.
  • Jim Matheson: Keep going back to the Red Wings for Jeff Petry because they may think they can re-sign him. The Oilers would want Xavier Ouellet, Ryan Sproul or Alexey Marchenko.
  • Mike Chambers of the Denver Post: The Avs could trade pending UFA Jan Hejda, getting a prospect or draft pick back. They could move Daniel Briere. Moving Ryan O’Reilly by the deadline won’t land them a top-2 defenseman. Unless they can get a 1st round pick and a top prospect for O’Reilly, he’ll likely finish the season in Colorado.
